Internship: The Final Week!

Internship—The Final Week!

This week the main focus should be preparing for your iPOL so we'll only ask you to do one blog.

Choose one of the following:

1. Describe what you are most thankful for in your internship experience—what experiences, what people, and so on? What new appreciations have you gained through internship and how did you develop these?

2. Describe your reflections on your internship project—what went well, what would you do differently, and what stands out to you?

3. How might you continue your internship experiences beyond the scope of the HTHMA internship? What ideas, skills, connections and so on will you bring back to the rest of your life? Will you continue working with your internship beyond February of 2023?

4. Write a Thank You note to your mentor, highlighting specific learning experiences, achievements, personal growth, etc., that occurred during your internship.

​5. What advice would you pass on to future interns? What are the most important skills for a student to be successful at his/her internship? How could another student develop these skills prior to beginning an internship?

6. Describe your POL preparation process. What presentation tools are you planning to use? Are you relying on notes, a memorized talk, something else? How are you preparing for questions you might be asked?

7. How do you feel about returning back to classes next week? Do you anticipate a different experience of school now that you have been immersed in a workplace? What are you looking forward to about coming back? What are you going to miss about internship?

8. In what ways has your internship inspired you to think about college or career? Have you discovered new colleges that you are interested in attending? Have you learned about new courses to study or majors to pursue? Have you considered new career paths?

9. How do you see yourself making decisions about your own life beyond HTHMA? Do you see yourself following a life similar to anyone you met at an internship? Why or why not?
