Internship Week 1

Welcome to your first week of internship! Remember to enjoy your time, advocate for yourself and get involved with the work and people at your site!

Blog Assignment for Week 1

1. Only if you did not do this on Wednesday -- Create an internship-specific blog and submit the link using this. You may use google, wix, blogger, wordpress or any other simple, user-friendly blogging platform that allows you to post text and pictures from home and school. You can even add it to your DP if that is best for you. Your blog is where we'll keep up with you for the month!

2. Choose ONE of the following prompts & post thoughtful responses, AND

pictures on your blog. Post by 11:59:59 pm on Sunday, January 8th. Each week, you will be asked to complete blog entries, so please keep your blog up to date.

1. What are you looking forward to most about your internship experience?

2. What are you most concerned about in your internship?

3. What type of work do you plan to do? What are your hopes for your project?

4. Choose an employee in your company and after a conversation with him or her, describe his/her education, overall career path and current job description. Don't forget to post a picture of you with your new coworker!

5. Who is your mentor? Describe his or her life, education, career path and more. Don't forget to post a picture of you with your mentor!

6. Describe the culture at your internship, including how people interact, communicate and work together. Post an image that captures that culture.

7. What are you most surprised by during your first couple days of internship and why? Post an image that shows what surprises you.

8. What goods and/or services does your company provide to the community and how do they consider their role in the community, responsibilities to society? Post an image that shows something your company contributes or an image that shows the effects of the work your company does.

9. What is your company's mission statement (and if they don't have one, write it!), and how do you see it in their work? Post an image that reflects that statement.
